In the intergalactic commerce hub Chimera Station you don’t just send your workers to their tasks... You splice claws, tentacles and other parts! We are proud to introduce you Chimera Station: a boardgame by Mark Major, for 2-4 Players, playing in 60-90 minutes and published by Game Brewer. These workers are used to gather resources: points, food, credits, and living parts of aforementioned workers! During the game you’ll build and expand the space station and open up tons of different strategical and tactical possibilities. Featuring a grand total of 12 standard action spaces and 40 additional ones (modules), 22 perks, 16 different ways to configure your aliens (via components), and 4 different races, the possibilites are endless! What’s in the box?
We have just Five Rounds to build this Space Station, which would be nigh impossible if we were using just regular alien workers. Thankfully we have extra tools at our disposal: brains, tentacles, claws, and leaves. Each round is made up of three phases:
Reviews & Press
Interview with BoardGameGeek @ Gen Con ’16, USA Rahdo runs through Review by Undead Viking Preview by Man vs Meeple Shipping About Game brewer Game brewer is a new board game publishing company based in Turnhout, Belgium. A couple of years ago Rudy and Seb met and decided to start doing different projects revolving around board games. With Rudy's help Seb saw his dream come true with the birth of "de Kolonisten", his very own board game store and now it is time to ensure Rudy's dream becomes reality as well by publishing his very first board game with hopefully many to follow in case this campaign hits target! The people behind Game Brewer. Left to right: Rudy, JocArt and Seb.
Rudy is an architect by education which shows how eager he is to build and design things. When you throw in a passion for board games the result of the equation is not hard to guess ... He became a board game designer. Over the last couple of years Rudy has been developing some twenty different games of which approximately ten saw prototype play and further development. One stood out so much he decided he would probably buy it himself if ever he played it and so we decided this one to become the first title we would launch under the Game Brewer banner: Pixie Queen.
JocArt is a local talent in illustrating and animating … well, more or less anything. At Game Brewer we still recall the moment he showed us his scrap book with some “on the road” sketches. Jaws were dropping we assure you … Whenever he is not eating, sleeping or addressing some other primal need, he is found drawing things. Apparently he is spotted quite often at family meetings in the kids corner using the paper and pencils to draw all kinds of dragons, trolls and other fantastical creatures. What can you say? If it’s in your blood … Seb Van Deun - PR Manager, Game Consultant & Company Troll Seb was probably born with two dice in his left hand and some meeples in his right hand. “Is it a boy or a girl?” was responded to with “It’s a board gamer!” probably … Just to say he has been playing board games for a long, long time already. He used to be in serious business selling laboratory applications but ever since he met with Rudy his life has taken a U-turn and he nowadays spends his days in his board game store “de Kolonisten” in Turnhout where he is damned to try out demo copies of new games, chit chat with people that share his passion for games and … play some more games. Can you imagine having this poor bastards life? Within Game Brewer he does the PR and marketing work, annoys Rudy by trying to “break” the game systems he comes up with and is the all-round good guy (as you can see in the picture this last point is clearly exaggerated) every company needs. You know, the one that just walks around the building laughing and singing (God help us) … Important notes Production. A distinction must be made between games that are printed by Giochix directly and those that are printed “indirectly” by another publisher. In the first case, we have direct control over the entire printing process and we can intervene quickly to adjust for any potential issues where necessary. In the second case, we may only interact with the publisher that prints the game, without any ability to make immediate changes during the production process. This means that once the games are printed by us, the shipping date that we have indicated in the project will be a reasonably safe deadline. While we are confident in our abilities to meet the designated timing, unfortunately, delays are always a possibility and this must be taken into account. In the second case, for “indirect” games, the shipping date is purely indicative. It can happen also that the deliveries suffer a delay for reason out of our control and this should be taken in account. -> Chimera Station is printed by Game Brewer. It is therefore an “indirect” game. Components. Game specifications and components are to be considered indicative of the final product and may be changed during final production. Fairs. It is possible for the game's shipment to be scheduled to occur during a time frame close to a larger game fair, such as Essen Fair in Germany or Lucca Comics and Games in Italy. It is important to note that we will be showing/selling the game at these fairs independently of campaign participant shipment status. Attending these fair events is vital to the game's chances for success. We reserve the right to separate the contents of an order into different shipments or to merge the contents of different orders in the same shipment to improve the shipment's delivery speed and any required logistics management. If this happens, there will not be any additional costs to you as a customer (nor right to any refund). Shipments made by courier or by insured postal service can be tracked and are considered insured. Shipments made by the postal service are not insured and cannot be traced. While rare it is also possible that a package may be lost (0.1-1%). The insurance option for postal services costs an additional 3 euros. Courier shipments may take about 1-2 days for Italy, 3-6 days for EU/US/Canada and 1-2 weeks for the rest of the world. Postal service shipments require about 1-2 weeks for Italy, 2-7 weeks for EU/US/Canada and 4-8 weeks for the rest of the world. Please note that the postal service in the same case can be slow and may suffer several weeks of additional delay. This happens very rarely but it is still a possibility and is out of our control. If you would like a faster delivery, or wish to avoid any risk of a long delay in the arrival of the package, please use a courier service. Courier shipment insures against package loss, destruction and package damage. Postal service insurance insures against package loss or destruction. Insurance requires a customer claim to be made when the package is delivered. Ask the postman. Important: Please note that we will not reship any game without first having investigated what happened to the first shipment. This can be processeed quickly through the courier service option, but may require an additional 1-5 weeks through the postal service. If you live outside of the European Community, custom's taxes may be added. This usually doesn't happen for boardgames; however, please check your country's rules and regulations as this aspect will not be our responsibility. (ver 15)
