How many times did you crave to play with real metal coins instead of plastic or cardboard ones? Feeling their weight, hearing their sound, seeing them shine…Now you can!

How many times have you immersed in fantastic atmospheres during your favorite boardgame session, role-playing games or historical re-enactments, and you felt that something was missing? Now your gaming and playing experience might be more immersive and realistic!

We are proud to present you 5 fabulous historical metal coin sets, to use in your preferred board game or role-playing game and making the difference. Every set is inspired by real historic coins and is composed of 21 coins in different colors.

You may purchase 1 or more sets clicking on the corresponding rewards. Multiple sets purchase will allow you to save shipping costs!

The weight of a set is about 150 grams.

This project is on two crowdfunding platforms simultaneously: Giochistarter and Kickstarter.

The Historic metal coins sets are the same (as are the stretch goals) on both platforms. The total funds raised by the campaign (which will determine the stretch goals that will be unlocked) will be the sum of the amounts raised on both websites. This sum will be automatically shown on Giochistarter. In the upper-left of the page, you will be able to see the total number of the backers and the total funds pledged.

It is possible to join this campaign using your Credit card, Paypal, Bitcoins, Satispay, Sofort or bank wire transfer.

The Historic metal coins sets will be shipped from Italy. There will, therefore, be no additional costs within the European Union (such as customs fees or the like). If you live outside the European Community, customs duties, and possibly VAT may be added at the cost of the game. We suggest you check your country's legislation in this regard.

What are you waiting for? Build up your treasury!
Join our new adventure and help us making new shining coins!

The Ancient Roman set is inspired by different kind of Roman coins from different periods: stater - inspired by Greek coins, denarius - a dollar of antiquity - and aureus - heavier due to the higher density of gold.

Roman coins had an essential role spreading ideas and messages in the Roman society: they were like mass media. Incisions celebrated the history of Rome, they faced religious, social and historical themes, they celebrate monuments, they recalled myths, legends, victories: Roman coins were political propaganda.

Denario "dollar of antiquity". In the incision dioscuri on horseback in a starry night, referring to the battle of Lake Regillo, turned in favor of the Romans from the arrival, on the twilight, of the divine twins.
Aureus coined by Augustus. In the engraving Temple of Mars Ultor: round-domed, tetra-style temple set on podium of three steps; within, is a chariot, carrying an aquila and a miniature, galloping quadriga. (Yes of course, "Aureus" should be a gold coin, but we are artists, so we changed the material!)
The Rome foundation of Romulus and Commemorative Remus coined by Constantine I 'The Great'.
Around 330 AD, Constantine the Great completed his new capital for the Roman Empire and called it Constantinople, originally the ancient Greek city called Byzantium. For the memorable occasion of Constantinople, he issued this bronze coin depicting the standing wolf that left to sip Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome.

Italian Medieval set is inspired by medieval coins from different cities: Alfonsino issued in the Kingdom of Naples, Genovino from Genoa, Florin coined in the Republic of Florence.

From the second half of the eighth century, with the monetary reform of Charlemagne, the coinage in Western Europe resumed. Even if the diffusion is initially limited, gradually the use of money joins the barter which, after the collapse of the Roman Empire, had once again become the main means of exchange.

Alfonsino, gold coin issued in the Kingdom of Naples by Alfonso I of Naples (1442-1458). It had the value of a duchy and a half and its engraving represents the emblem of the Aragonese.
Genovino, issued in Genoa for the first time in 1252, just before the issue of the Florentine coin.
In the engraving, we see the heraldic cross and around CVNRADVS REX, ie Corrado III who in 1139 had granted the city the right to coin money.
Fiorino, a 24-karat gold coin, first coined in 1252 in Florence. The engraving represents St. John the patron saint of the city.
In the thirteenth century and until the Renaissance, the florin became the favorite currency of exchange in Europe, a sort of euro of time.

The Spanish Colonial set is inspired by coins issued in the period of overseas expansion when Spain discover the New World.

The Spanish set is inspired by the reals, used for several centuries in Spain, the escudo, and the doubloons, ancient gold coins minted in Spain and Spanish America from the 16th century to the middle of the 19th century, that in Europe became the model for several other gold coins.
This is the perfect set for any pirate or colonial game!

Philip V, gold 8 Escudos, known as “piece of eight”. Philip V King of Spain was the first Spanish monarch of the Bourbon dynasty and his reign has been the longest in modern Spanish history.
Silver real coined in Seville during the reign of Peter I of Castile (1350-1369). The real (meaning: "royal") was a unit of currency in Spain for several centuries after the mid-14th century. The first real was introduced by King Pedro I of Castile at the value of 3 maravedies.
Carlos II, gold 8 Escudos. Cross of Jerusalem with lions and castles in the angles. Carlos II was the last Spanish King of the Hapsburg Dynasty. Due to his young age when rising to the throne at the age of four, Spain was ruled by the King's mother and her friends for years. Not able to produce an heir with either of his two wives, Carlos named a French prince to succeed him. Late in 1700, Carlos passed away at the age of 39, leaving the kingdom much impoverished.

Pre-Columbian era set takes inspiration from the indigenous Americas cultures like Maya, Atzec, Inca civilizations.

For this set we already made real metal coins!

Pre-Columbian civilizations used barter instead of money, so we design this set taking inspirations from their arts and rituals. Every coin represents a symbol or relevant element of those cultures, like the sun, cosmos, supernatural beings, or skulls. Use this set to enjoy boardgames set in the Americas before the Christopher Columbus' arrival in the New World.

Human skull decorated with a polychromic mosaic, tessels of turquoise, hematit and tumbaga gold sheets. Mixtec-Aztec, Mexico - 1300-1521 A.D.
Monolith of the Stone of the Sun, also named Aztec calendar stone, in the center is the face of the solar deity, Tonatiuh.
Hammered gold breastplates from central Panama decorated with intricate embossed images of supernatural beings with claws, bared teeth, and serpentine appendages.

From the late 4th century BC to the late 1st century BC, the Celts moved to a monetary economy because of relations and commercial contacts with the Greeks.

Celtic coins were influenced by Mediterranean coinage: originally they copied the Greek types, then the design began to become more symbolic.
There were engraved giants that drag heads severed, knights in charge, gods and goddesses, skulls, thunder and lightning, the sun and the moon. Celtic coins are miniature surreal art masterpieces!

Vindelici Regenbogenschüsselchen - rainbow cup - featuring Triskelis with ball-ended ends, in a kind of laurel wreath. According to folk belief, these coins could be found where a rainbow touched the earth, in plowed fields after heavy rainfall and they were thought to bring luck.

Celtic coin issued about AD 61, featuring the face of Boudicca, a queen of the British Celtic Iceni tribe. She led the largest anti-Roman revolt of the island's tribes.
Biatech, hexadrachms of the Bratislava type. Biatec was the name of a person, presumably a king, who appeared on the Celtic coins minted by the Boii - a Gallic tribe of the later Iron Age.

Production.
A distinction must be made between games that are printed by Giochix directly and those that are printed “indirectly” by another publisher.

In the first case, we have direct control over the entire printing process and we can intervene quickly to adjust for any potential issues where necessary.

In the second case, we may only interact with the publisher that prints the game, without any ability to make immediate changes during the production process.

This means that once the games are printed by us, the shipping date that we have indicated in the project will be a reasonably safe deadline. While we are confident in our abilities to meet the designated timing, unfortunately, delays are always a possibility and this must be taken into account. In the second case, for “indirect” games, the shipping date is purely indicative.

It can happen also that the deliveries suffer a delay for reason out of our control and this should be taken into account.

-> The Historical metal coins are printed by Giochix.it, so are “direct” production.

Components. Contents specifications and components are to be considered merely indicative of the final product and may be changed during final production.

Project pages. Sometimes there can be small variations between the pages of this project in the different languages. In that case, refer to the project’s English page.

Fairs. It is possible for the game's shipment to be scheduled to occur during a time frame close to a larger game fair, such as Essen Fair in Germany or Lucca Comics and Games in Italy. It is important to note that we will be showing/selling the game at these fairs independently of campaign participant shipment status. Attending these fair events is vital to the game's chances for success.

Order Canceling. An order can be canceled and fully refunded before the end of the campaign by clicking on the specific button on the order page. After the end of the campaign, the order can still be canceled within 15 days from the campaign ending date by sending us an e-mail with the specific request.
Please note that in this case the refund will not include the processing costs and will be limited to the 90% of the amount paid. Besides these options, the order is considered as valid and is not cancelable/refundable.

Order Partially paid. Orders paid only partially will be awaiting full payment before being processed and shipped for a maximum of 6 months, after this period they will be thrown away.

Pledge Manager. After some weeks from the campaign end, Pledge Manager will be active. This procedure allows participants to confirm and revise their order, to purchase
addons and to update their profile/delivery address. Pledge manager will be up for some days up to a specific deadline. We strongly recommend all participants to complete the pledge manager within the expiry date. If not, please consider that:

- Any campaign special price for addons expires with Pledge Manager deadline. After that date, all addon will available at normal price.
- We will not able to guarantee the availability of any exclusive content made in limited quantity.
- We will not able to guarantee the scheduled shipment date as a delay could happen.
- We will not able to guarantee the pickup in Rome or Stand (if available in the project).

Giochistarter users will be able to access to pledge manager simply opening their order page. Kickstarter users will receive the access info by email.

Shipments. We ship by postal service or by supported courier (UPS, GLS, SDA, DHL, etc.). We reserve the right to separate the contents of an order into different shipments or to merge the contents of different orders in the same shipment to improve the shipment's delivery speed and any required logistics management. If this happens, there will not be any additional costs to you as a customer (nor right to any refund).

Shipments made by courier or by insured postal service can be tracked. Shipments made by the postal service cannot be traced.

Courier shipments may take about 1-2 days for Italy, 3-6 days for EU/US/Canada and 1-2 weeks for the rest of the world. Postal service shipments require about 1-2 weeks for Italy, 3-9 weeks for EU/US/Canada and 4-12 weeks for the rest of the world. Please note that the postal service can be slow and may suffer several weeks of additional delay, especially near or during holidays period, like Christmas. This happens very rarely but it is still a possibility and is out of our control. If you would like a faster delivery or wish to avoid any risk of a long delay in the arrival of the package, please use a courier service.

Courier shipment assurance insures against package loss, destruction, and package damage. Postal service insurance insures against package loss or destruction. Insurance requires a customer claim to be made when the package is delivered, not later: please ask the postal carrier to make you a receipt "accepted with reserve".

If the game failed to arrive because of your mistake (wrong address, recipient absent, not picking up at courier/postal warehouse, etc.), you will have to pay an additional shipping/warehousing cost for us to re-send/re-deliver your game. This cost will also include the return costs of the game. On the other hand, if the error is ours, we will send it again to you at our expense. If the package is lost or destroyed, we will reship it at our expense only if it was insured.

Important: Please note that we will not reship any game without first having investigated what happened to the first shipment. This can be processed quickly through the courier service option but may require an additional 1-5 weeks through the postal service.
We will no longer accept complaints related to the shipments of items of this campaign (package damaged, lost or missing contents) after 6 months from the date of shipment.

If you live outside of the European Community, customs taxes may be added. This usually doesn't happen for boardgames; however, please check your country's rules and regulations as this aspect will not be our responsibility.

Complaints deadline. We will no longer accept complaints about this campaign after 12 months from the date of availability of the games.
